To describe all of the services that WEST provides is a daunting task. An outline seems to be the best method of organizing all of that information without having to write a novel. Keep in mind, this is only a description of services. All of the life-saving methods that WEST is capable of are not totally included on this website at this time.

  1. Emergency Services
    1. Search: Lost and Missing Persons
      1. Non-Wilderness
        1. In cities, towns, and suburbs we have the resources and know-how to search in schools, parks, hospitals, retirement communities, neighborhoods, and shopping malls. Whether a child has wandered off, an Alzheimer's patient is no where to be found, or if nearby water ways are flooding a neighborhood, WEST will be there.
      2. Wilderness
        1. Let's face it. When you get into trouble in the Great Outdoors you are going to need some specialized assistance to get you out. WEST is that specialized assistance. Combining today's technology with old-fashioned hard work WEST is able to conduct an efficient and productive search for any missing person in any environment and weather condition.
      3. Water
    2. Rescue
      1. Medical Care
        1. First Aid & CPR
        2. Emergency Medical
        3. Wilderness Emergency Medical
          1. When the ambulance can not get to you, WEST can. Our rescue medical team will hike with medical treatment equipment to where ever you are, and will treat your injuries immediately. Then, when you are stable enough to be moved, the team will carry you out on a wheel-less stretcher (stokes basket) while monitoring your condition.
      2. Hi-Angle
        1. Have you ever broken you arm while rock climbing a couple hundred feet in the air? Neither have I. But it happens. And when it does WEST can climb up to you, secure your arm (even your entire body depending on your injuries), and repel you safely and securely off of the rock.
      3. Cave
        1. Attention Spelunkers!!! We've got you covered!
      4. Water
    3. Brush Fire Suppression
      1. Emergency Response, Containment, Extinguish
      2. Controlled Burn
  2. Professional & Educational Services
    1. Hug-A-Tree Presentations
      1. A lost or missing child is a serious concern. Take precautions by teaching your children how to stay safe and "get found".
    2. Search & Rescue Presentations
      1. Are you not sure as to what we do, or what Search and Rescue is all about? Let us explain it to your group or organization.
    3. Search & Rescue Action-Plan Consultation
      1. Let us help you create or update your first response action plan. After investigating your facilities, grounds, and surrounding areas we can customize an efficient plan that your staff can easily expedite the moment one of your wards is discovered to be missing.
        1. Hospitals
        2. Retirement Communities
        3. Schools
        4. Malls
        5. Emergency Response and other SAR crews
    4. Event Support
      1. Allow us to take care of some of the logistical needs of your community event.
        1. Communications
          1. With our high-band repeater system you can keep tabs on all aspects of your event without racking up minutes on your cell phone. Instant and continuous contact with various stations in your event.
        2. Medical
          1. Due to our members having medical training, with many of us having EMT and Paramedic certifications, we will manage and staff your medical station.
        3. Check Points
          1. In marathons, triathlons, bike races, and adventure races it is usually helpful to have staff members in various sections of the course to insure safety and fairness of competition. With the communications and medical skills already listed, WEST crew members are already qualified to manage your event's check points.
        4. Participant Containment
    5. Lancaster General Hospital
      1. Hospital Employee Emergency Transportation.
        1. During times of Snow Emergencies WEST assists LGH with the management and transportation of employees that are necessary to hospital operations, including the Women's and Babies Center.
        2. Our members use their own personal vehicles (4-wheel drives) to do this.

All of the above services are provided free of charge. Of course, donations are always appreciated.
