On the days following the terrorist attacks on
the World Trade Towers on September 11, 2001, members of WEST
were called to New York City to assist the K-9 Recovery Task
Force.
 |
These are our crew members who assisted with the K-9
Recovery Task Force. They sorted through the debris of
the World Trade Centers searching for articles to be
identified by forensic scientists. |
 |
This was the command post for the K-9 Recovery Task
Force. |
 |
Boots and gas masks still needed when off-duty. |

at the debris site. |
 |
After trucks came into the site and dumped debris,
crew workers would start scattering the debris with
rakes. This made the search process as managable as
possible. |
 |
A picture says a thousand words. |
